PT-141 (Bremelanotide)<\/h3>\n
PT-141<\/strong> is a synthetic peptide derived from the \u03b1-MSH (alpha-melanocyte-stimulating) hormone. It was discovered by chance while being studied as a sunless tanning agent, but volunteers reported a marked increase in sexual desire. Today, it is the first FDA-approved drug<\/strong> to treat hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women<\/strong>, and it is used in men with erectile dysfunction or low libido.<\/div>\n
